We are pleased to announce the latest addition to our fleet: M.V. Ultra Yorkshire.
Today, we celebrated the launch of our new 40,000dwt handysize bulk carrier at the Shin Kurushima Shipyard in Kochi, Japan. The construction of the Ultra Yorkshire has been a remarkable achievement, involving the dedicated efforts of 240 shipyard employees over the past four months. The day was highlighted by a traditional naming ceremony, reflecting the significant milestone this vessel represents.
The Ultra Yorkshire not only enhances our fleet but also stands as a testament to our enduring partnership with the Drax Group, which is marking its 50th anniversary this year. The vessel’s distinctive colour scheme, in line with Drax’s brand colours, and its name, chosen by Drax as a tribute to the location of their power station, underscore the strong collaboration between our organisations.
