We are proud to introduce a newly trained group of Environmental Ambassadors within our organisation. In September 2024, a carefully selected team of employees completed an intensive training programme, equipping them with the knowledge, insights and practical tools necessary to champion sustainability across our business.
Drawing on expertise from both internal and external professionals, this group has gained a deep understanding of key issues surrounding sustainable shipping, environmental responsibility and industry best practices and perspectives. These included EU ETS, FuelEU, Biofuel, digitalisation and retrofitting the current fleet, amongst many other important subjects. The role of our new Enviromental Ambassadors is not just to apply this knowledge but to act as in-house experts, assisting their colleagues and promoting sustainable initiatives and sharing their newly gained knowledge with the rest of the company.
The training programme is part of our Every Ton Counts initiative – our guiding principle to rethink and develop our practices towards greener solutions. Our Environmental Ambassadors will help us amplify our impact and ensure that we keep moving towards our goal of achieving a zero-emission fleet by 2050.
We are excited to see the positive changes this team will inspire as we work together towards a more sustainable future.
