It has been a very busy six months for Ultrabulk since the change of management and strategic focus last year. We have restructured our commercial activities with a focus on empowering the business units by pushing decision-making to the frontline, thus making us more agile and responsive to the very volatile market conditions we are experiencing now and expect to see going forward.
Per von Appen comments:
“For me personally, it has been fantastic to be reacquainted with Ultrabulk, and it has been impressive to see how our company has evolved, both in relation to our full cargo business, but also how we have managed to develop our niche trades. It is great to see how we utilise our network across the organisation to develop business, not only for our own business unit, but also to create opportunities for other business units and colleagues.
We have come a long way in a short amount of time, and we are now ready to take the next step.
Per von Appen continues:
“On behalf of the Board, I have asked Hans-Christian Olesen to take over as Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect. I have worked closely with Hans-Christian over the years, but especially during the past six months, we have had the opportunity to work even more closely together, and I am confident that Hans-Christian and the very strong leadership team we have put in place will make Ultrabulk even more successful going forward – especially as we continue the all-important transformation of Ultrabulk.
The Board also decided that I take over as Chairman of the Board of Ultrabulk, a job I very much look forward to, especially after having had the opportunity over the past six months to really get to know the people and the business. I really enjoy the dry bulk business, and my ambition is to stay as close to Ultrabulk as possible, wherefore I will still be part of the Ultrabulk’s executive team.”
We look forward to this new chapter for Ultrabulk.
