Last week, we had the privilege of hosting our annual presentations in Japan, a cherished tradition that allows us to provide updates on our business while fostering personal connections with our Japanese friends and business partners. Led by our CEO, Hans-Christian Olesen, we showcased Ultrabulks’s state-of-affairs and presented our 2023 financial results. The events unfolded in both Imabari and Tokyo, attracting a remarkable turnout of over 250 attendees who graced us with their presence.

Reflecting on these events, our Head of S&P and Long-Term Chartering, Claus Andersen remarked, “The two gatherings provided an excellent opportunity to engage with the local industry and reconnect with our longstanding partners and friends. Additionally, the events served as a fantastic introduction for our new colleague in the Tokyo office.”

Our enduring relationship with Japan spans decades. It dates back to 1973 when we received our first newbuilding from Japan. Since then, our collaboration has flourished, culminating in 78 dry cargo newbuilding projects. Looking ahead, we anticipate the completion of 15 more projects between 2024 and 2026, underscoring the enduring strength of our partnership with Japanese shipowners.

We extend our sincere thanks to all who joined us for these presentations and events. Your participation and support are invaluable as we continue to strengthen our bonds in Japan and beyond.
